NATURE IN DANGER
As of now, Ukraine is the most heavily mined country in the world, with minefields covering 30% of its territory.
The destruction of nature and habitats is a pressing issue that extends far beyond the borders of Ukraine.
This devastation affects the local environment and has far-reaching consequences for neighboring lands and beyond. The urgency to address this ecocide is paramount as it threatens the very essence of our natural world.
All proceeds from this project will be directed toward demining Ukrainian territory.
New York City Photo Exhibition Honors Ukrainian Nature Photographer Denys Kryvyi
Ukrainian Jersey City and The Ukrainian Institute of America invite you to an afternoon of photography, poetry and nature in New York City. The event marks the opening of an exhibition of works by Denys Kryvyi (1988–2023), an award-winning Ukrainian photographer who lost his life defending his country.
All proceeds will benefit Come Back Alive (“Повернись живим”), a nonprofit dedicated to demining Ukraine.
Denys Kryvyi (Денис Кривий) was a Ukrainian nature photographer. He was born on October 19, 1988, in Cherniakhiv, Zhytomyr Oblast. After completing his university studies, Denys Kryvyi worked as a designer at an advertising agency in Zhytomyr, and from 2013, he worked with National Geographic Ukraine. He was the winner of many national and international photography contests, and was awarded two prestigious FIAP Blue Ribbons.
